Aloha and welcome to Wahine Style. I'm Kawika Woodhams, the principal photographer and owner.

My photographic journey started in elementary school with a $100 manual focus, manual exposure film camera. Little did my father realize that this was the beginning of a lifelong passion.

Nowadays, with the popularity of digital photography, anyone can buy a capable prosumer camera, take some pictures and call himself a photographer. But it takes technical knowledge to venture away from Auto mode in search of a better image, and it takes a creative eye to turn an image into art. As the field of photography has evolved, so have I. Canon is my brand, the 1D Mark II is my main weapon, with a 20D as my trusty backup.

With its tropical climate, beautiful wahine (girls) and the dream of comfortable living, Hawaii has always captured the fascination of people worldwide. When I started Wahine Style in 2004, my aim was to present the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands to the world via the internet. It's my hope that this site, with photographs of beautiful females in Hawaii's tropical setting, will bring the world closer to the dream. Enjoy!
